Welcome

Welcome to the new home for RedDot resources here at the U of A. These pages will help to introduce and support you and your RedDot implementation.

What is RedDot?

RedDot is a web-based content manager. After integrating a site into the RedDot system, any authorized personnel can easily create and maintain content for the site.

Getting Started

To get started you will need to fill out a request form. This will allow the RedDot administrator to have the basic information needed to begin setting up your web space in appropriate project. Soon afterwards you will be contacted to discuss the measures needed to get your web site integrated into RedDot as well as to set up the workflow system so you can begin editing those pages. Before filling out the form take a few moments to identify any persons in your area who may play a role as a content contributor, editor, and/or administrator. Also, if you have a college webmaster, contact them and let them know of your intentions. There is a good chance we will need to include them in our discussions.

In many cases we will utilize your current web site. If changes or a redesign is needed to conform to the newly created web style guide, we will discuss those changes and the best way for you to accomplish those changes. RedDot is not going to put any restrictions on the way you design your site or the web languages you will use. However the web style guide may, so please look over it before you begin.

Additional Information

There is a RedDot listserve for our campus. You can register your e-mail address to the list by entering the command: subscribe REDDOT in an e-mail to listserv@listserv.uark.edu.
